News Report

Construction crews are hard at work on the Amenity Center at homebuilder Taylor Morrison's Winthrop Village in Riverview.

The company recently hosted a ground-breaking ceremony for the new facility, which is expected to be completed soon.

Crews are also in the process of preparing 33 home sites for development in an effort to keep pace with the rising demand for new homes in this growing community on Bloomingdale Avenue and Watson Road in Riverview.

Taylor Morrison also announced the opening of two new model homes: the Spencer and Ashland models at 11207 Winthrop St., Riverview.

"We are moving full speed ahead here at Winthrop Village," said Cammie Longenecker, vice president of sales and marketing for Taylor Morrison West Florida, in a press release. "Home sales are brisk, customer traffic is up - everything is going well. This community has always had a special appeal because of its Traditional Neighborhood Design. The Amenity Center is going to be spectacular, and when it's finished, it will be a tremendous draw for potential homebuyers as well as a wonderful source of recreation and social activities for the residents."

As the centerpiece of the neighborhood's recreational complex, the Amenity Center at Winthrop Village will include a clubhouse with a state-of-the-art fitness center, furnished gathering room and a catering kitchen. Outside will be a resort-style swimming pool and spa with a nearby playground.

The Traditional Neighborhood Design concept seeks to re-create a small-town atmosphere while providing the conveniences of urban living. The curb appeal of the neighborhood is enhanced by eliminating street-facing garages and replacing them with alley-access garages.

The fronts of the homes are graced with wide lawns and shady front porches where neighbors can sit and visit.

Pedestrian-friendly streets make it easy to walk to nearby shopping and . Publix Supermarket anchors the retail establishments in Winthrop Town Centre, which is also home to multiple restaurants, banks, boutiques and shops, and a day spa and salon.

The newly completed Spencer model is part of Taylor Morrison's Traditional Series collection and can be built with up to five bedrooms to suit the needs of any potential buyer. Popular features include a private first-floor master suite, a chef-friendly kitchen with ample cabinet space, and a convenient breakfast bar that overlooks the generously sized family room. Located just beyond the stairs is an oversized bonus room which can be adapted for multi use. With 2,345 square feet of living space, this home starts in the low $200s.

Also from the Traditional Series, the Ashland is a two-story home with plenty of windows. The foyer opens to a combined living and dining room, while a spacious kitchen overlooks a breakfast nook and family room. Upstairs are three bedrooms, including a private master suite with large closet and oversized bath. This home includes 2,269 square feet and starts from the high $100s.

Homes in Winthrop Village include two additional plans from the Traditional Series and three designs from the Cottage Series, with prices starting in the mid $100s. The community has low homeowner association fees and no Community Development District (CDD) fees.

When completed, the 70-acre Winthrop Village will be a community of 300 homes.
