It was a VERY long but FANTASTIC weekend at the softball field.
First and foremost…………….there was a very special ‘moment’ at the field this past Saturday during the Bridgeview vs. Garden District game. As Vince Kennedy approached the plate in the third inning for his first at bat, we were all curious as to ‘what’ would happen. The ‘moment’ took over everyone’s competitive emotions, and both teams, including everyone in the crowd, stood up and gave Vince a standing ovation. We then presented Vince with the game ball. For a few minutes, the ‘game’ took a backseat to a very very special ‘moment’ at the field. It was no longer about the ‘game’ but more about the ‘people’ that play it. If you were lucky enough to be there, you participated in something extremely special, something I won’t soon forget. On that note, the FH softball league was able to raise over $600 dollars that will be handed to Vince to be contributed to his teams donations for the Relay For Life event this coming weekend. The Fishhawk Softball League once again rose to the occasion…………..continuing to bat a THOUSAND!
