As the Channing Tatum movie "Magic Mike" hits theaters this weekend, a Valrico real estate agent recently recounted his own past as a male stripper in Florida.
Rick Pitts, 52, went by the name "Rick Wild" for more than two decades as he danced in all-male revues at nightclubs such as Stingers, Club Joy, Whiskey North and Mark Twain, TBO.com reports.
"(Male strippers) were superstars back then," Pitts told TBO. "We had the rock 'n' roll hair, wore T-backs and girls went wild. And it wasn't a bad thing to make the girls scream."
Pitts also told the news site he earned good money in his stripping career, taking home around $200 in tips on a good night.
"Magic Mike," loosely based on Tampa Catholic grad Channing Tatum's early career as a stripper in Tampa, opened Friday.
