Performing Arts Academy Presents 'Legally Blonde'

The production will be staged this weekend at The Barn Theatre at Winthrop.

After directing several successful productions for the Florida Academy of Performing Arts in Brandon, Bloomingdale High School graduate Tammy Modica returns with "Legally Blonde, The Musical."

The production will be presented May 25-26 at 8 p.m. and May 27 at 2 and 6 p.m. at The Barn Theatre at Winthrop, 11349 Bloomingdale Ave., Riverivew.

"Legally Blonde, The Musical" is based on the novel "Legally Blonde" and the 2001 film of the same name. It tells the story of Elle Woods, a sorority girl who enrolls at Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend, Warner. She discovers how her knowledge of the law can help others, and successfully defends exercise queen Brooke Wyndham in a murder trial.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.faopa.org, at the door or at Music Showcase, 402 Oakfield Dr., Brandon, home of the faopa. Advanced ticket are $12 for adults or $10 for youth, ages 12 and under, seniors, ages 55 and up, and military. Tickets at the door are $15 for adults and $13 for youth, senior and military.
