'Jekyll & Hyde' to Be Performed at The Regent

The Florida Academy for the Performing Arts will present the Robert Louis Stevenson classic tale starting Friday.

The Showcase Players of the Florida Academy of Performing Arts will present "Jekyll & Hyde" on stage June 3-5 and June 10-12 at 7 p.m. at The Regent,6437 Watson Road, Riverview.

Through special arrangements with Music Theatre International, FAOPA will present "Jekyll & Hyde," the tale of the classic battle between good and evil.

"Jekyll & Hyde" is based on the story by Robert Louis Stevenson. Under the direction of Miguel Oquendo, the Showcase Players, a beginning musical theatre class for teens ages 13 and up, will present 10 performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 3-5 and June 10-12.

Performance times are Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Tickets are $10 general admission and $8 for students, seniors and military.

Showcase Players is a beginning musical theater class for teens ages 13 and up. Emphasis is placed on beginning technique and creating an environment where everyone is encouraged and has opportunities to grow as performers. Students participate in all aspects of the production including assisting with set construction.
