Florida Academy of Performing Arts to Present 'Once on This Island'

The production is scheduled for June 3-5.

The Florida Academy of Performing Arts will presents "Once on this Island," the theatrical Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairytale, “The Little Mermaid.” 

The eight-time Tony-nominated Broadway musical is based on the novel “My Love, My Love” by Rosa Guy. Directed by Jenn Abreu-Grechika and presented by the academy’s Audition-Only Group, this energetic dance-driven production will be presented at Music Showcase at 402 Oakfield Drive in Brandon.

The show, starring Michelle Magruder as Ti Moune and Christian Meany as Daniel, is completed by a lively cast of islanders and gods. Shows are scheduled for Friday, June 3 at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 4 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 5 at 2 p.m.  Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and children.
