Cardboard Artist to be Featured at Thursday Nights Live

Sarasota artist Matt Rentz will display his cardboard artwork this Thursday, June 28, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Thursday Nights Live!

The exhibit and reception will take place at the Beaux Arts Gallery, 11252 Winthrop Main St., Riverview.

"I first encountered Matt at a meeting to discuss forming a co-op gallery a few years ago," said Debra Bryant, the gallery's exhibit organizer. "At that time I was struck by the paradox of quiet exterior demeanor and flaming artistic passion that is Matt. Since then, there have been a lot of transitions in his life. He has relocated several times, always open to inspiration, always painting. A Plant City native, Matt recently moved to Sarasota."

Influenced by Marc Chagall, Rentz has created his Cardboard Series, a collection of paintings done on cardboard, some of which will be on display at the Beaux Arts Gallery. 

The event is open to the public.
