Strawberry Festival Royalty Named

The Junior Royalty Pageant was held Saturday.

The 2012 Strawberry Festival Junior Royalty Pageant was held Saturday,
Jan. 7, in the festival's Expo Building.

Approximately 120 young girls competed for the titles of Baroness, Duchess, Princess and Queen. More than 1,100 people came out to cheer for their contestant.

"This was truly a great event. Beautiful young ladies, all winners to me," said Florida Strawberry Festival President Ron Gainey.

Every year this pageant is open for girls between the ages of 5 and 15
who reside in Hillsborough County. The winner in each category will represent the Florida Strawberry Festival on a float in the Youth Parade Saturday, March 3, and in the Grand Parade on Monday, March 5.

The 2012 Junior Royalty winners are:

Baroness: Milee Hasting

1st Maid: Hanna Barrett                  

1st Maid: Deanna Rodriguez
