Residents Invited to Have a Blast This Fourth of July at Westfield Brandon

Westfield Brandon mall will host a fireworks display, live entertainment and children's activities.

Residents are invited to Westfield Brandon mall from 5 to 9 p.m. July 4 for the mall's eighth annual Brandon Blast.

According to mall marketing director Dawn Arvidson, there will be live entertainment, kids activities and a large fireworks display to help residents celebrate the Fourth of July.

Most of the activities will be centered in the restaurant courtyard on the west side of the mall where the curbside-to-go parking lane will be blocked off for activities, said Arvidson.

"We'll have bouncy houses, Dade City Creatures and other children's activities organized by the Greater Brandon Community Foundation," said Arvidson. She added that proceeds from the event will benefit the foundation, which provides funding to Brandon charities.

"In addition, our restaurants will be selling food, WQYK FM radio will be simulcasting the fireworks display live and we'll have bands performing," she said.

The main band will be Edge of Sanity, a hard rock cover band from Tampa.

As soon as it gets dark, she said there will be a 20-minute fireworks display by a professional pyrotechnical company.

"We invited everyone to come on out," she said. "It's an event the whole family can enjoy."
