PatchCast: Bay Area Renaissance Festival

Bloomingdale residents are invited to take a trip back in time during a festival that focuses on the Renaissance era.

The Renaissance festival continues through April 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Museum of Science & Industry, 11315 46th St. N., off Fowler Avenue in Tampa.

Upcoming theme weekends include:

March 26-27 -- Highland Fling with Highland games, beer tasting, a kilt competition, Scottish village, pipe and drum band

April 2-3 -- Wonders of the World with a world market, belly dance competition, tattoo competition, juggling competition and arm wrestling competition

April 9-10 -- High Seas Adventure with a longbow competition, horseshoe competition, fencing lessons and a biker weekend

April 16-17 -- Huzzah to the King with a king's birthday celebration, beer tasting, fencing competition, harvest market vendors and an after-hours masque ball starting at 6:30 p.m. 

Tickets at the gate are $17.95 for adults, $9.95  for children age 5 to 12 and $14.95 for senior citizens. Discounts are available if you purchase your tickets in advance at Walgreens, MOSI and participating Circle Ks. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more by calling 800-601-4848.
