Patch Picks: Places for Easter Brunch

Looking for some place to eat brunch on Easter Day? Here's some local restaurants that will be open for the occasion.

1. Acropolis Taverna, 6108 Winthrop Town Center Ave., Riverview. The Acropolis will have specials for Easter Day. Or you can choose mainstays such as char-grilled lamb shops with roasted vegetables and orzo or red grilled snapper with garlic and rosemary. Call 813-654-2255 for reservations.

2. Joel's Steakhouse, 1020 E. Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico, will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will have a prime rib special Easter Day in addition to a selection of filets, New York strips and bone-in ribeye cooked to order. Call 813-662-5635 for reservations.

3. Stonewood Grill and Tavern, 612 E. Bloomingdale Ave., Brandon, will open at 4 p.m. Easter Day with its regular dinner menu, including oak-grill steaks and chops, grilled rosemary and garlic lamb chops and ginger lime-glazed salmon. Reservations are not necessary. Call 813-655-9561.

4. Oak Park Cellar, 16132 Churchview Drive, Suite 101, Lithia, will be open Easter Day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Diners can enjoy seared tenderloin with blue choose mashed potatoes, grilled New York strip with grilled asparagus and gnocchi ala romana or grilled tuna with olive caponata and garbanzo panisse.

5. If you're in the mood for a true brunch, the Recipe Box Family Diner, 147 E. Bloomingdale Ave., Brandon, will open Easter morning at 7 a.m. Easter morning and will remain open until 2:30 p.m. The Recipe Box serves French toasts with apricot preserves and cream cheese, eggs any stytgle, country-fried steak, omelets and pancakes. 7. J.F. Kicks Neighborhood Bar & Grill, 3345 Lithia-Pinecrest Road, Valrico, opens at 11:30 a.m. on Easter Day. Diners can choose from choice prime rib, grilled sesame tuna or tender white tilapia sauteed in J.F. Kicks' special Italian seasoning. Call 813-643-7777.

8. The Green Iguana Bar & Grill, 6264 Winthrop Town Center Drive, Riverview, will be open for Eastery starting 11 a.m. Diners can enjoy a variety of dishes for Easter dinner including tortilla-crusted tilapia, Iggy's half-pound chili-crusted sirloin with baja salsa or Green Iguana smothered chicken with a green florentine and lemon butter sauce. 9. Outback Steakhouse, 16547 FishHawk Blvd., Lithia, will open at 4 p.m. on Easter Day, offering the Outback special sirloin seared paired with two lump crabmeat cakes or New Zealand rack of lamb. Call 813-689-2222 for reservations.
