Music Showcase Honors Breast Cancer Survivor

The music store awarded $1,300 to Shelly Ellis.

News Report

Music Showcase  awarded $1,300 to a breast cancer patient on Nov. 1 at the store at 402 Oakfield Drive in Brandon.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Music Showcase held an essay contest to find a patient currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer. After being nominated by a friend, Shelly Ellis won the contest because she is without health insurance and is about to undergo a double mastectomy.

Money awarded to Ellis was raised with various fundraisers at Music
Showcase throughout the month of October. Those included the sale of pink cupcakes, cookies and ribbons and a sock hop. Chick-fil-A, Domino's Pizza, Hungry Howies and PB & J Vending donated food for the hop.
