High Rollers to Host Rods on the River Car Show

The March 23 show will feature more than 200 classic cars.

Classic car lovers are invited to show off their Chevys, Model Ts and Mustangs at the fourth annual "Rods on the River 4 Goin' Hog Wild Car Show."

Presented by the High Rollers Car Club of Riverview, the show will take place Saturday, March 23 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Uncle Mike's Smokehouse Grill, 9847 Adamo Dr., Tampa.

In addition to more than 200 classic cars from the 1950s to the '70s, the event will include food, vendors and entertainment. Cars will be eligible for awards including Best of Show. Registration is $20.

All proceeds will go to the Shriners Hospital for Children.

The car club is open to all owners and lovers of classic cars. Members come from as far away as Orlando.

Monthly meetings are held the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at Advance Auto Parts, 13324 Boyette Rd., Riverview. Members also get together for local cruise-ins, car shows and other events.

Cruise-ins are held each Wednesday at Sonic Drive-in, 1230 E. Brandon Blvd., Valrico, from 6 to 9 p.m. and at Dairy Queen, 10503 Gibsonton Dr., Riverview, Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m.

The club hosts two annual shows, the upcoming Rods on the River and the Mason Dixon Christmas Wish Show where all funds collected are given to local charities. The members also support some of the local assisted living facilities in the area with car shows.
