FishHawk Ranch Invites Master Grillers to Compete

Do you have what it takes to win a barbecue cookoff? Put your grilling skills to the test to see if you can create the best Bang-Up Burgers, Dangerously Delicious Dogs, Champion Chicken or Rockin’ Ribs.

FishHawk Ranch will host the BBQ Cookoff, a day filled with friendly competition and good eats, Sunday, July 24 from noon to 2 p.m. at Park Square.

A maximum of 30 entries will fill the park with tempting barbecue aromas. Contestans may enter the contest as individual chefs or as a collaborative team. Chefs may begin setting up and grilling at 9 a.m.

The cost is $15 per entry and tasters will pay $5 to sample the results.

There will be two types of awards, “People’s Choice” and “Judges’ Awards." Prizes will be awarded to the best Bang-Up Burger Chef, the Dangerously Delicious Dogs Chef, the Champion Chicken Chef and the Rockin’ Ribs Chef.

The theme of the cookoff is “Life’s A Beach." Residents are invited to come in cool beach attire and listen to the Beach Boys while munching on barbecue. Popular disc jockey Jonny Torres will provide tunes throughout the event.
