FishHawk Mom Organizes Walk to Honor Sandy Hook Victims

The walk took place Friday at 9:30 during the 27 minutes of silence for the 27 victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Despite chilly temperatures, nearly 60 people paid tribute to the Sandy Hook Elementary School victims by walking through FishHawk Ranch.

The walk took place Friday, Dec. 21, starting at 9:30 a.m., during the 27-minute national period of silence for the 27 victims of the Dec. 14 mass shooting in Newtown, Conn.

Touched by the tragedy, FishHawk Ranch resident Shawn Trotti, the mother of two daughters, was seeking a way to pay tribute to the victims locally. She came across a Facebook page called Walk 27, asking the world to walk on Dec. 21 wearing green and white, the school colors for Sandy Hook Elementary School. Heeding the call, she decided to organize her own Walk 27.
