On May 1, four Silver Roses dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe began a pilgrimage from Canada through the United States, to join together at Laredo, Texas, then cross into Mexico where they will conclude their journey at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Monterrey Dec. 12, the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. There, the roses will reside until their next pilgrimage.
Catholics throughout the area will have an opportunity to view one of the roses and participate in a prayer service "Celebrating Our Blessed Mother" and praying to restore the culture of life in society Thursday, Aug. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4450 County Road 579, Seffner.
Those attending should arrive by by 7:15 p.m. to help line the final path leading from the county road to the front of the church, as the rose- carried on its final leg by runners- arrives at 7:30 pm and is received and then is moved to the altar with an image of Our Lady of Guadalupe in a Community Procession of Roses.
