This year's parade, one of the largest in the state, will take place Thursday, July 4 starting at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Parsons Avenue and Lumsden Road. This year's theme is "Honoring America's Monuments," and participants are encouraged to decorate their floats and vehicles in keeping with that theme.

Parade chairwoman Marie Cain said she is seeking a wide range of participants including marching bands, musical groups, horse units, decorated vehicles, floats, krewes, cheerleading groups and Scout troops, church groups and dance troupes.
