Chili Chefs Wanted for FishHawk-Riverview Rotary Club Cook-off

This year's chili cook-off takes place Oct. 16 at the Hillsborough County Fair.

Chili chefs, dig out your best family recipes and prepare to compete. 

The third annual Chili Cook-off hosted by the Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview will take place Oct. 16 at the Hillsborough County Fair off State Road 60 in Sydney.

It begins at noon and runs to 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come out and taste chili made by groups, individuals and youth entrants in the contest, and vote for their favorite choice.

The winning chili cooker will receive a monetary award.  

"This event is great for families and all those in the community who love chili and want to support their local charities," said club president, Mara Shaughnessy.

The Rotary Club of FishHawk-Riverview hosts several fundraising events, such as the Chili Cook-off and the Crawfish Festival to support charities in the community.

Anyone wishing to enter the cook-off should contact Christine Ans at 813-368-2699. Tickets to the Chili Cook-off are also available for $5, which also allows free entry into the Hillsborough County Fair.
