Hanukkah Begins Dec. 20; Chabad of Brandon to Host Celebrations

Chabad of Brandon's Rabbi Mendel Rubashkin will light a giant menorah at Westfield Brandon mall.

Chabad of Brandon is inviting the community to celebrate Hanukkah this year.

Hanukkah begins at sunset, Dec. 20, and ends at sunset, Dec. 28.

On Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 5 p.m., Chabad of Brandon will kick off the holiday with the annual lighting of the 6-foot menorah at Westfield Brandon mall.

The entire community is invited to enjoy hot latkes, music and dancing. There also will be crafts and prizes for kids. Admission is free. 

The celebration continues Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m. with an adult Hanukkah party at the Chabad Jewish Center in Valrico, 3005 Waylong Ln.

There will be refreshments, a Dec-A-Donut activity, no-limit Texas dreidel and other games. The suggested donation is $8 per person.

On Sunday, Dec. 25, at noon, there will be a family Hanukkah celebration at the Chabad Jewish Center in Valrico with refreshments, crafts, games and Kosher New York pizza for sale. The suggested donation is $5 per person.
