Jewish members of the greater Brandon community are invited to participate in Chabad of Brandon's community Seders to be held on Friday, April 6 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 7 at 7:15 p.m. at 3005 Waylon Ln., Valrico.
Rabbi Mendel Rubashkin of the Chabad of Brandon will facilitate the inter-generational program.
"Whether one is a Seder veteran with answers to all four questions or a curious explorer with 40 questions of their own, our Seder offers a stimulating and satisfying experience," said Rabbi Rubashkin.
The Seders will feature hand-baked Shmurah Matzah, four cups of fine Kosher wine, along with a sound explanation in English of what’s happening at each stage sprinkled with Kabbalistic insight. In addition, there will be a full dinner, traditional songs and the Four Questions.
The Seders cost $36 per person; $100 per family and must be reserved in advance by visiting www.ChabadBrandon.org/seder or calling 813-657-9393. No one will be turned away for lack of ability to pay. No membership or affiliation is required.
The eight-day festival of Passover is celebrated this year from sundown on Friday, April 6 until after nightfall on Saturday, April 14. Passover commemorates the exodus of the Jews from Egypt and will be celebrated with festive Seder dinners on April 6 and 7. Other holiday observances include restricting the consumption of leavened products such as bread and pasta, instead eating unleavened matzah.
