Marking its third year in business, the Glazer Children’s Museum on Sept. 22 will celebrate with a Dance Party in the Park, at the Curtis Hixon Park Waterfront Park adjacent to the library. Admission to the party is free, and also to the museum, from 1 to 6 p.m.
Also, "Five-Dollar Days" are scheduled from Sept. 7 through Sept. 30, featuring $5 admission for all guests "as a sign of appreciation to the community for their support these past three years," according to a museum news release.
The outdoor dance party, hosted by the Official Baby Loves Disco DJ, "is geared toward families and will be completely free to the public," according to a museum news release.
“September is a month for us to celebrate our birthday with the community that has helped us become the organization we are today,” said Al Najjar, the museum's president and chief executive officer. “With the public’s support we have made some very big strides over the past three years and are looking forward to making some very exciting announcements this year that will enhance the museum for years to come.”
Also on the Sept. 22 birthday celebration agenda:
- Fit Kids Playground and Nick’s World Wide Day of Play will provide outdoor children’s activities.
- Food trucks and vendors.
- Birthday cake at 2 p.m., served free, while the cake lasts.
- The amateur Ashley Whippet Dog Frisbee Competition in scheduled for 5 to 6 p.m., in the lower portion of the park.
