Carwash to Benefit Family of Car Crash Victim

A car wash is taking place today at the Burger King on U.S. 301 and Boyette Road in Riverview to benefit the family of Tyler Stich.

Friends of the Stich family are holding a car wash today until 2 p.m.  at the Burger King on U.S. 301 and Boyette Road in Riverview. All proceeds will go to the family.

In the meantime, friends have set up a memorial at the crash site on Kings Avenue for Tyler Stich, 17, of Brandon who was killed in a rollover crash Friday afternoon.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the teen was partially ejected and pinned beneath a Ford Explorer when it left the road and overturned several times. Stich was not wearing a seat belt.

Friends set up a memorial today on the side of a Brandon road where a 17-year-old boy died Friday afternoon in a rollover crash.

Tyler Stich of Brandon was partially ejected and pinned beneath a Ford Explorer when the vehicle, carrying seven people, went off the road and overturned several times, Hillsborough County deputies said. Stich was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver, Michael A. Kryder, 17, of Brandon, voluntarily submitted to a blood test, but there was no evidence of alcohol or drugs in his system, according to the sherffi's office.

The other passengers, who ranged in age from 9 to 17, received only minor injuries.

Friends and well-wishers have been sharing messages on the online Legacy Guestbook, including teacher Melissa Brown of Apollo Beach.

"I am so sorry to hear about Tyler. I loved having him in my reading class. He had the best sense of humor. We will miss him more than words can say," wrote Brown.
