Brandon Idol Auditions Set This Week
Auditions kick off this week for annual song fest.
Organizers of an annual talent competition are sending out a casting call for vocalists who want to vie for a chance to become Brandon's next idol.
Auditions for the 10th annual Brandon Idol contest will be held Thursday, March 24, at 8 p.m. at The Hi-Life Bar and Grill, 1602 E Brandon Blvd., Brandon, and Friday, March 25 at 7 p.m. at The Clubhouse Sports Bar and Grill, 1265 Kingsway Road, Brandon.
For the first time, the winner of this year's Brandon Idol contest, scheduled for April 30 at 7 p.m. at the Brandon Elks Lodge, 800 Centennial Lodge Drive, Brandon, will receive a grand prize of $500

The contest is open to all residents including previous winners, who don't have to audition. All others must audition.
Auditions are free. If selected for the finals competition April 30, there's a $30 entry fee and includes a ticket to the show.

Space is limited, so please sign up early. The organizers will take walk-ins, but priority goes to those who sign up.
In April, the Brandon Idol organizers will contact those called back for the final competition April 30.

The Brandon Teen Idol is scheduled for the same date at 1 p.m. at the Brandon Elks Lodge.
Auditions will take place Thursday, March 31 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Brandon Family YMCA, 3097 S. Kingsway Road Seffner.

Tickets for the Brandon Teen Idol contest are $15 for adults, $5 for anyone under 18. Make checks payable to the "Brandon Family YMCA."
Tickets are available at The Clubhouse Sports Cafe, 1265 Kingsway Road, Brandon. Group tables are available. A reserved table of eight is $125 and a premium table for eight with front-row placement is $175.
