Bike Fest Now Under Way in Riverview

Whether you own a classic Harley with all the bells and whistlers or favor a well-loved later-model Kawasaki, you won't want to miss this weekend's 10th annual GibTown Bike Week taking place through Jan. 13 at the International Independent Showmen's Association headquarters, 6915 Riverview Dr., Riverview.

The annual event attracts thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from across the county and features merchandise vendors, entertainment, stunt shows, food and drink, a beer garden, Ruskin's own Definitive Wrestling International professional wrestlers, free camping, bike shows and a Sunday hot rod car show. Parking is available for 10,000 bikes and cars and admission is free.

Entertainment

Today's entertainment lineup includes the SouthBound band from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Coconuts venue, Bobby Friss from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at the Main Club Show Bar and Blackwater Jack from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. at the Main Club Show Bar.

Saturday's entertainment includes Hollywood & Broken Note from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Randy McNeely Band from 3 to 7 p.m. at the River Gazebo; Caribbean Cowboy from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Beer Garden; Sammy Solo from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Fired Up from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Coconuts; and a Led Zeppelin Tribute from 7:30 to 11 p.m. and Blackwater Jack from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. at the Main Club Show Bar.

The music will continue Sunday with Fired Up from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Beer Garden; Randy McNeely from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Beer Garden; SouthBand from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Coconuts; and the Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Band from 7:30 to 11 p.m. and Blackwater Jack from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. at the Main Club Show Bar.

Other features include the Johnny Rockets Cyber Cycle, Galaxy Girl on her 110-foot sway pole and breakfast at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday served by the Showmen's Shrine Club. Brandon's own Born to Ride TV network and magazine, founded by Ron Galletti, will be on hand as well.

VIP Program

Attendees who prefer special treatment have the option of two VIP programs. The $100 VIP gets all the draft beer the attendee wants, free food Saturday and Sunday, VIP parking, VIP camp spots, an invitation to the After Bike Fest party and personalized service.

The $150 VIP program includes all the well drinks the attendee wants plus all the advantages of the $100 VIP.
