Local Views: ‘Wishes Fill Dishes’ at Animal Services Donation Drive
Santa was the featured guest at Hillsborough County Animal Services on Falkenburg Drive in Greater Brandon for the annual "Wishes Fill Dishes" fundraiser "to benefit needy paws."
Dogs and cats need a little Christmas, too.
At least that was the thought behind the "Wishes Fill Dishes” annual donation drive at Hillsborough County Animal Services, 440 North Falkenburg Rd., on Saturday, Dec. 17.
Animal lovers were asked to help “fill dishes” with donations of pet food and other items for the shelter’s Animal Angel Giving Tree, which each year is erected in the shelter’s lobby.

The event aims to raise awareness and donations for the shelter animals and to introduce dogs and cats to potential adoptive families.
Santa Claus himself made a special appearance at the event and youngsters who attended received a plush toy along with a photo with the jolly old elf.
