All That Glitters Event in FishHawk to Benefit All Children's Hospital

The fundraiser will include dancing, raffles, a silent auction and speakers.

Dig out your dancing shoes and prepare to cut a rug for a good cause.

The All Children's Hospital Guild of Brandon is hosting its first "All That Glitters" fundraiser Friday, Dec. 2 at the in FishHawk Ranch starting at 6:30 p.m.

"It's going to be a lot of fun," said chairwoman Mary P. Digiovanni. "The Brandon School of Dance Arts will entertain with three dances, and then we'll have them teach a dance routine to one lucky person at each table who will then participate in a dance contest."

Trophies will be given to the winners.

The evening also will include speakers who have been patients at All Children's Hospital, including Summer Moll, the now-7-year-old Brandon girl who was seriously injured in a head-on collision in 2008 on the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway. Her mother was killed in that accident.

The master of ceremonies for the evening is area resident Rod Carter, WFLA Channel 8 news anchor.

In addition to dancing, there will be a silent auction including the decorated Christmas trees that will adorn each table. There also will be a raffle and a lottery board. Couples can have their photos taken at the event as well.

Drawings created by children at the hospital as well as decorated ornaments will be on sale. Hors d'oeuvres will be provided by and Chick-fil-A, and there will be a cash bar with beer and wine.

"I'm hoping for a nice turnout. I'd like at least 200 people," said Digiovanni. "This is a great way to kick off the holiday season."

Proceeds from the event will benefit the hospital's Applied Behavior Analysis service, a new service for children with emotional problems.

Dress for the adults-only event is business casual. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 cash at the door.

The 3-year-old All Children's Hospital Guild of Brandon is open to any member of the community. The guild hosts fundraisers throughout the year to benefit the hospital. It meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the All Children's Specialty Care, 885 S. Parsons Ave., Brandon.
