5 Things to Know Today, May 31

Painting, dancing and scrabble. There are activities for kids and adults alike going on today.

1. If your kids love to draw, check out this class. The Campo Family YMCA will host a drawing class for kids with artist Minnette Webster for ages 5 to 10 3 p.m. to 3:55 p.m. and a class for ages 7 to 12 meets from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The cost is $28 for facility members and $40 for others. 2. Or, if your kids are into something more active, check out this class at The Dance Center. The Dance Center, 161 E. Bloomingdale Ave., Brandon will host a Mommy and Me Class for moms and children who turn age 2 by Sept. 1 Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. The children are introduced to listening, memorization, music and coordination.

3. For the young at heart, a Scrabble Club meets Tuesdays from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the Davis Park Senior Center, 612 N. Parsons Ave., Brandon. Participants should bring their own games.

4. Also for adults who enjoy games, the Bridge Club meets every Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Campo Family YMCA, 3414 Culbreath Road, Valrico.

5. Or try your hand at some bingo this evening. The Brandon Moose Lodge hosts bingo every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.  The event is open to the public.
