5 Things to Know Today, May 28

Here's some things you might want to know as you go about your day.

1. It's going to be another hot day, with temperatures reaching 91 degrees. And, according to Weather.com, there's also a 50 percent chance of rain in the Bloomingdale Patch area. So lather on plenty of sun screen and bring an umbrella is you're planning an outdoor activity.

2. The Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Bazaar and Yard Sale today from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at the Boardwalk of Riverview Offices located off of Gibsonton Drive (between U.S. 301 and I-75), 10011 Water Works Lane, Riverview.

3. Have an old instrument you no longer use? Music Showcase, 402 Oakfield Drive, Brandon, will host its first musical swap meet May 28 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

4. Bay Life Church will host its annual Classic Car Show Saturday, May 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, 1017 Kingsway Road, Brandon. There will be a variety of classic cars, hot rods, muscle cars, trucks and exotic cars. In addition, there will be a number of vendors including Chick-fil-A and Jaymer-Que BBQ, a children's coloring contest, arts and crafts, stamping and scrapbooking classes and a live band. The day will begin with a special Memorial Day recognition of the Armed Forces. The Tampa Bay Rays' Street Team will be on hand to talk about driving safety for teens. Throughout the day, there will be food, beverages, door prizes donated by local businesses and a 50/50 drawing. All proceeds from the event go to the church's summer mission trips. The event is free.

5. Come on out to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 3315 Bryan Road, Brandon, and enjoy a free concert, The church will host a jazz concert featuring the East Hillsborough Community Band todday at 4:30 p.m.
