5 Things to Know Today, May 25

Here's some things you might want to know as you go about your day.

1. For those who always wanted to learn to draw, there will be a Drawing With Pastels class today at 6:30 p.m. at the Bloomingdale Regional Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico. Students will explore drawing and blending with pastels. Materials are provided. Wear a cover-up or something old. The class size is limited to 15. Sign up at the Ask Me Kiosk.

2. Parents and babies can enjoy stories and games today. Baby Times takes place Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. at the Bloomingdale Regional Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico.

3. The Campo Family YMCA will host judo classes for all ages Wednesdays at 7:45 p.m. for ages 13 and up and Saturdays at 10 a.m. for ages 5 to 12. There is no cost for facility members.

4. Certified cosmetologists help cancer patients deal with appearance-related side effects of treatment the last Wednesday of the month at the Brandon office of the American Cancer Society, 1462 Oakfield Drive, Brandon, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. To register, call 1-800-227-9954.

5. Chabad of Brandon, 3005 Waylon Lane, Valrico, is offering an opportunity to take a midday break  from the hustle and bustle and dive into the world of Torah in search of life lessons and inspiration. Each class is based on the weekly Torah portion.

The class will be held every Wednesday from noon to 12:45 p.m. The course is free of charge but there is a suggested donation of $18 or $180 to be a course sponsor.
