1. Dress in your best Hollywood glam outfit and attend the Evening With the Stars Gala, sponsored by the American Cancer Society.

The event will take place tonight at The Regent, 6437 Watson Road, Riverview, starting at 6:30 p.m. with a champagne reception.

The night, with a Hollywood glamour theme, will include dinner catered by Fred's Southern Gourmet of Plant City, jazz music by the jazz band from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, a silent auction and casino games.

3. The Holy Family Adoption Ministry will host its kickoff picnic for any adoptive families of St. Stephen Catholic Church May 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the church portico, 5049 Bell Shoals Road, Valrico. Bring a salad to share. Sandwiches and drinks will be provided.

4. The Valrico Rams will host a Family Fun Day May 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Valrico Park. There will be music. games, inflatables, slides, a dunk tank, flag football, basketball, Army trucks, a car show, vendor booths and food. Registration for the Valrico Rams youth football and cheerleading program also will take place May 21 and June 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Valrico Park, 707 S. Miller Road, Valrico. Children ages 5 to 14 as of July 31, 2011, are eligible. Bring a birth certificate and a parent ID. Registration forms can be found at www.valricorams.org.
