5 Things to Know Today, March 7

Here's some things you might want to know as you go about your day.

1. If you're filling up your car at the gas pumps today, be ready to pay more. The price for regular unleaded gas is $3.51 a gallon, up 43 cents from last month. The rise is attributed to the unrest in the Middle East.

2. Visit the Bloomingdale Regional Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico, for a special live musical event March 7 at 6:30 p.m. in celebration of Women's History Month. This concert, featuring vocalist Perley Rousseau accompanied on piano by Sonny Daye, will highlight music written or co-written by female composers.
 
3. The Campo Family YMCA, 3414 Culbreath Road, Valrico, will host Pilates for Teens ages 13 and up Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. Pilates is a body-conditioning method that strengthens and stretches the entire body. The focus is on the back and abdominal muscles and lower body. Teens must take the Teen Youth Orientation class to attend. 4. The Brandon Regional Library, 619 Vonderburg Drive, Brandon, will offer information on government services and job resources Mondays and Wednesdays at 3 p.m

5. A free adult computer class is offered Mondays at 10:30 a.m. at the Bloomingdale Regional Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico. Registration is required no earlier than one hour before the program.
