5 Things to Know Today, June 2

Here's some things you might want to know as you go about your day.

1. Dazzling Dancers Level 1 for ages 6 to 9 will take place at the Campo Family YMCA, 3414 Culbreath Road, Valrico, today from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and run throughout June and July. The cost is $34 for facility members, $51 for program members for a four-week session.

2. The AARP will offer a driver safety program today from 9:30 to 3:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 121 N. Knights Ave. The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. Call Roger Block at 813-629-3365.

3. Check out the FishHawk SOS for singles over 60. They meet Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m. to play card games such as Uno, Spades, Mexican Train and Oh, Heck! Bridge tables also can be set up if requested. Those attending should bring a bagged lunch. Evening get-togethers may be planned if there is enough interest. 4. Plaza Bella invites artists to exhibit their works during the First Thursday event, held the first Thursday of the month from 5 to 8 p.m. on the sidewalks in front of the shops at Plaza Bella, including The Green Boutique, Orange and Robeks. Live music and refreshments accompany the First Thursday events.

5. The Lithia/FishHawk Area Council meets the first Thursday of the month at The Palmetto Club in FishHawk Ranch, 17004 Dorman Road., Lithia, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
