5 Things to Know Today, June 19

Here's some things you might want to do with your dad this Father's Day.

1. It's Father's Day. Treat your dad to a day at the Florida Aquarium, Lowry Park Zoo or Museum of Science & Industry free of charge today.

2. Take dad fishing. Gov. Rick Scott, in his Father’s Day Message, posted June 17, invites “fathers to enjoy the excitement of saltwater fishing in Florida.” No license? No worries, it’s OK by Scott, who adds: “You can share in the fun without a license, although all other regulations will apply.”

3. Take your dad to J.F. Kick's Neighborhood Bar & Grille, 3345 Lithia-Pinecrest Road, Valrico, to relax with Mosey Down on the patio from 6 to 10 p.m. while enjoy a fish and chips or ribs basket.

5. Let dad spend Sunday relaxing in front of the TV while you prepare sweet tomato barbecue burgers on the grill. Publix in Brandon and Valrico have market ground beef on sale for $3.29 a pound and the recipe for the burgers can be found at http://www.publix.com/aprons/meals/AllRecipes/SimpleMeal.do?mealId=3268&mealGroupId=1000. Also on sale at Publix are ribeye steaks. Boneless are $7.99 a pound and bone-in is $7.49 a pound.
