5 Things to Know Today, June 14

Here's some things you might want to know as you go about your day.

1. A Girls Night Out at the movies will take place at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, at AMC the Regency 20 in Brandon featuring the movie, “Something Borrowed.” The event is one of Cami Gibertini's fundraisers for honorary mayor of Brandon. The $25 ticket price includes food and drink.

2. Join fellow Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce members and guests from around the greater Brandon business community for an After Hours networking event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Sosa Law Office:  952 W. Brandon Blvd., Brandon. No RSVP is required. Don't forget to bring plenty of business cards with you.  There will be cash prizes, door prizes and networking opportunities.

3. The East Hillsborough Democratic Club will meet June 14 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Barnacles, 926 Providence Road, Brandon. Guest speakers Patrick Cannon, advocacy director of Florida CHAIN (Community Health Action Information Network) and Jason Wilson, emergency room physician, will present an overview of the Affordable Care Act and discuss the status of its implementation in Florida.
