5 Things to Know Today, July 31

1. Today's temperatures will reach a high of 94 degrees with a 40 percent chance of showers, according to weather.com. So carry an umbrella to be on the safe side.

2. Teachers will be appreciated at MOSI with free admission now through Aug. 26. There also will be $5 off for their family members (up to six members). In addition, teachers will save 10 percent at MOSI’s Elements Gift Shop on personal purchases or purchases for their classrooms.  Teachers must present school identification or other proof of employment. The admission offer may not be combined with other offers or discounts and excludes special engagement exhibitions, films, events and the Sky Trail Ropes Course. The gift shop discount excludes gift certificates and telescopes. 

3. The Alafia American Legion Post 148, 7240 U.S. 301 S., Riverview, will host a yard sale from 7 a.m. to noon at the post. Spaces are available for $7 and tables for $5. The post serves breakfast from 9-11 a.m.

4. A Moms Ministry meets Sundays at 7 p.m. in Room 9 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 5049 Bell Shoals Road, Valrico.

5. Yoga classes are held Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. at Asana Yoga, 1252 Kingsway Road, Brandon. An athlete's stretch workshop is held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and a kids' yoga program is held Mondays at 3:30 p.m.
