5 Things to Know Today, July 1

Here's some things you might want to know as you go about your day.

1. Start your weekend out at Park Square where The Rob K. Band, formally known as BLAST, an energetic and fun party rock trio, will perform ronight for the Park Square Concert Series from 7 to 10 p.m. Rock out with neighbors and friends for this free concert featuring music from the '70s, '80s, '90s and current hits.

2.When the Park Square concert's over, head to Park Square Cellar for more music. The Terrence Betts Project will perform live jazz and blues at Park Square Cellar, 16132 Churchview Drive, Lithia, July 1 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. and July 2 from 8 p.m. to midnight.

3. Or check out Upstairs at Park Square where the party rock cover band, Category Three, will perform from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

4. If you like dancing, here's an event for you.

Dancin' Motion School of the Arts in Bloomingdale Commons at 127 W. Bloomingdale Ave., Brandon, offers Friday Night Dance Socials every Friday from 9:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. The price is $8 at the door or $5 for college students with an ID. The price includes a 30-minute Latin dance class, drinks and snacks.

5. Friday is Pump It Up Pop In Playtime for preschoolers through kindergarten at Pump It Up, 729 A. W. Lumsden Road, in Oak Park Plaza in Brandon from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The session promotes social development and physical fitness while bouncing, sliding, climbing, and jumping on Pump It Up's giant, soft, interactive inflatibles. The cost for children age 2 to 6 is $8. Reservations are not required. Parents are free and are required to accompany the child. Socks and a signed waiver are required to play.
