5 Things to Know Today: Happy Hour and More

Here's some things you might want to know as you go about your day.

1. 4 Paws Veterinary Hospital and Joia Fabulous Pizza & Martini Bar, 10475 Gibsonton Dr., Riverview, will present a Horse-Ology Happy Hour to benefit RVR Horse Rescue in Riverview. There will be cowboy and cowgirl costume contest. Horses from RVR will be on hand and there will be raffles.2

2. Nights of Shimmering Lights has kicked off its first season with a spectacular light and sound show with more than a half million twinkling lights celebrating the holiday season. Experience scenes like Winter Wonders and Undersea Adventure while listening to the sounds of the season from your car radio. Reflect on the reason for the season with The Nativity and watch the children’s faces light up as the giant Santa greets them in Toyland. With more than 600 larger-than-life lighted scenes, tunnels and dancing lights, Nights of Shimmering Lights is unique in its custom-designed scenes to celebrate the joy of the season. Don’t miss the Animation Lane where mega-trees, arches and shooting poles entertain you with their dancing antics. The event continues Sunday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. at the Hillsborough County Fairgrounds off State Road 60 and Sydney-Washer Road in Dover. It runs each Thursday through Sunday night until Jan. 7. The cost is $20 per vehicle.

3. Come see Santa at Westfield Brandon mall. Visits are free. Photo gift packages are available for a charge. Santa will be at the mall from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today.

4. A Moms Ministry meets Sundays at 7 p.m. in Room 9 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 5049 Bell Shoals Road, Valrico.

5. Join the Park Square Cellar Barstool Quarterback Club and receive hot wings and BOGO from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27. Park Square Cellar is at 16132 Churchview Dr., Lithia.
