5 Things to Know Today, Aug. 31

1. The FishHawk Chapter of All-Pro Dads meets the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 a.m. at FishHawk Fellowship Church, 15326 FishHawk Blvd., Lithia, for socializing and to discuss family topics. Breakfast is provided. 

2. Crane Tech's Happy Hour Party, hosted by Sherri McLean-Walker, in cooperation with the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce, will take place Aug. 31 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Green Iguana, 6264 Winthrop Town Center, Riverview. There will be a complimentary buffet, two for one wells, domestic drafts and house wines.

3. Area teens are invited to enjoy fun and games at Teen Game Zone Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. at the Bloomingdale Regional Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico.

4. Go ahead, take a gamble. The Elite Poker Challenge welcomes all skill levels each Wednesday starting at 6 p.m. with registration. The first tournament starts at 7 p.m. and the second at 10 p.m. at Upstairs, 16144 Churchview Drive, Lithia. Players will compete for prizes including bar tabs, seats in the World Series of Poker events, shirts, massages, an MP3, sunglasses, vacations, chip sets and poker tables.
