5 Things to Know Today, Aug. 25

1. The Beaux Arts Gallery at 11252 Winthrop Main St., Riverview. will host Thursday Nights Live Aug. 25 starting at 7 p.m. Local artists, including a special guest artist, will display their works. There will be live music and refreshments. "Like" the Beaux Arts Gallery on Facebook by Nov. 24 and be registered to win an original painting valued at more than $500.

2. The Bloomingdale Regional Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico, will host a back-to-school workshop titled "Sweets and Treats for Teens" Aug. 25 at 4 p.m.

Need new snack ideas for friendly gatherings? Learn how to make easy, fun treats such as chocolate-covered strawberries, smoothies and more. 

Arrive hungry and ready to try new things. This session is for middle school and high school students and is lmited to 24 participants. It is funded by the Friends of the Bloomingdale Regional Library.

3. The Money Source chapter of Business Networking International will meet Thursday from 7:15 to 9 a.m. at River Hills Country Club, 3943 New River Hills Parkway, Valrico.

The Money Source chapter meets weekly on Thursdays. It welcomes business professionals from the community to learn about generating referrals.

4. The Kiwanis Club of Brandon is part of a global organization dedicated to serving children. It meets Thursdays at 8 a.m. at Ben's Family Restaurant in Brandon.

5. St. Stephen Catholic Church hosts bingo the second and fourth Thursday of each month in the multipurpose room at the church, 5049 Bell Shoals Road, Valrico. It is open to the public and dinner is available.
