Here's some things you might want to know as you go about your day.

1. Hurricane season begins in a little more than a month. Don’t panic. We’ll be helping you with tips, and we’re looking for yours. Send suggestions on how to make your home hurricane-resistant to D'Ann White at dann.white@patch.com

2. We’re looking for local blogs to feature on our site. Have an opinion? We know you do. Contact local editor D'Ann White at dann.white@patch.com, and tell us why your blog would make a good addition to Patch.

3. Drawing with Pastels will be offered at the Bloomingdale Regional Public Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico, Wednesday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m. Residents are invited to explore the art of drawing and blending with pastels. Materials will be provided provided. Wear a cover up or something old.
