5 Things to Know Today, April 23

1. Get ready for some bargains. The Brandon Recreation Center, 510 E. Sadie St., will host a yard sale and family fun day April 23 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The proceeds from the event benefit the Adopt-A-Camper program that helps children attend after-chool and summer camp programs. Register at the event for the Summer Max Out Camp program. If you are applying for aid, it it is necessary to bring the first page of  your 2010 Form 1040 U.S. Individual Income Tax Return. Call 813-635-8179.

2. Or hop on over to R & R. Ranch for some fun. 

R & R Ranch, 9805 Bryant Road, Lithia, will host an Easter Eggstravaganza April 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be pony rides, cart rides, hay rides, a playground and a petting zoo. Admission is $10 per child. Call 813-653-3819 or visit rrranchlithia.com.

3. You also can visit the Easter Bunny at the Osprey Club in FishHawk Ranch on Saturday, April 23. During the event, snap a picture of your children while they meet the bunny.  To capture this special moment, please be sure to bring your own camera as there will not be a photographer on site.  In addition to meeting the bunny, children will have an opportunity to make a spring craft, watch an Easter movie and enjoy an eggstra special treat. There are three time-frames to choose from: 11 a.m., noon or 1 p.m.Please have your preferred time-frame selected when you purchase your tickets.  Once you have purchased your tickets, please understand you are committed to the time-frame you have selected.  Ticket sales will take place at the Osprey Club from noon to 5 p.m. The cost per child is $5 cash or check. Space is limited.

4. Have your Easter meal blessed. The priests at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 5049 Bell Shoals Road, Valrico, will celebrate Holy Saturday April 23 with the blessing of the Easter food at 11 a.m.

5. There's still time to visit with the Easter Bunny before he hops out of the area until next year.

The Easter bunny is located at Macy's Plaza in Westfield Brandon mall Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Round up your kids and stop by to meet the famous bunny and pose for a family photo by Shutterfly Photography.
