5 Things to Know Today, April 16

Here's 5 things you might want to know as you go about your day.

1. Hope on over to All Children’s Specialty Care of Brandon, 885 S. Parsons Ave., Brandon for the second annual Egg-Stravanganza from 10 a.m. to noon.

In addition to a vendor fair, the event includes an all-you-can-eat brunch, an Easter egg hunt, photos with the Easter bunny, children’s activities, a bounce house, a silent auction and live music.

2. The GFWC Brandon Junior Woman's Club will host its annual yard sale on Saturday, April 16, at the clubhouse located at 129 N. Moon Avenue in Brandon from 8:30 a.m. until approximately 1 p.m. There will be books, clothing, household items, crafts, furniture and more. The club also will have food, drinks and some baked goodies available for purchase.  All proceeds from the yard sale will go to the clubhouse for its historic clubhouse preservation. Contact Jeanette Kjosa at jfkjosa@msn.com.

3. There will be an open house for Camp BSAC April 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center, 405 Beverly Blvd., Brandon. Registration also is available for learn-to-swim and dive classes. Call 813-689-0908 or visit www.MyBSAC.org.

4. Here comes Peter Cottontail! Come have breakfast with the Easter bunny on Saturday, April 16th at South Shore United Methodist Church, 11525 Big Bend Road, Riverview. Two seatings are available: 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. with an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Children under age 2 are free, ages 2-11 are $5 and 12 and up are $7.  Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.

5. In honor of National Library Week, there will be an open house at the Bloomingdale Regional Public Library, 1906 Bloomingdale Ave., Valrico, Saturday, April 16 at 1 p.m.
