5 Things to Know About Thanksgiving Week

Here's some things you might want to know as Thanksgiving approaches.

  • 1. All Hillsborough County schools will be closed Nov. 21-25.
  • 2. Hillsborough County libraries will close at 6 p.m. Nov. 23, and remain closed Nov. 24-25.
  • 3. Publix grocery stores will be closed Nov. 24, Thanksgiving Day.
  • 4. Sweetbay grocery stores will be open until 5 p.m. Nov. 24, Thanksgiving Day.
  • 5. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, more than 45 million turkeys will be cooked and  eaten in the U.S. at Thanksgiving—that's one sixth of all turkeys sold in  the U.S. each year.
