2nd South Shore Music Festival Scheduled for Nov. 12

The festival will take place at the International Independent Showmen's Association in Riverview.

The sound of music will fill the grounds of the International Independent Showmen's Association Nov. 12 at organizers present the second annual South Shore Music Festival, featuring One Night Rodeo of Bradenton, winner of the Great American Country and Music Nation's Next GAC Star competition. 

The festival at 6915 Riverview Dr., Riverview, will feature local and regional artists performing rock, country and blues on two stages as well as a live reptile show, a classic car and motorcycle show, bounce houses and face painting.

Gates open at 11 a.m. and the music continues to 10 p.m. Tickets are now available at the festival's website. An early-bird adult ticket (before Nov. 1) is $12. General admission tickets are $15. And tickets for youth age 13-17 and seniors and military are $6. Kids under 12 are admitted free. A VIP ticket for $45 gives the ticket holder access to a 1,700-square-foot bar with TVs, free draft beer and free parking.

Riverview businessman Mike Self, president and founder of the South Shore Music Festival, is currently seeking sponsors for the festival.

"As a sponsor of the South Shore Music Festival, you will not only be receiving exposure to thousands of potential clients, you will also be supporting our philanthropic efforts and help bring a national act to the areas surrounding South Shore," said Self.

Self said there are a variety of sponsorships available from title sponsors to stage sponsors.   

Proceeds from the festival go to A Hand to Hope Inc., a local nonprofit for caregivers, and a scholarship fund for the Riverview High School Music Department.

The host for this year's festival is Heidi Decker, assistant program director and midday host for radio station 106.5 CTQ. The lineup for this year's festival includes One Night Radio, 10th Concession, Alex Hayes and Zebron & James.

"SSMF's purpose is to showcase the region's talent, heritage and people," said Self. In addition, there will be food, games and a 10,000-square-foot kids zone.
