Island House Title in Vero Beach, Florida, Merges with Boss, Arrighi & Hoag Law Firm

VERO BEACH, FLORIDA – Amid the recent growing trend of title company mergers, Island House Title of Vero Beach has announced that it has merged with the law firm of Boss, Arrighi & Hoag, P.L. (BAH) and its title affiliate, Protected Title Services, LLC. The law firm maintains offices in Vero Beach, St. Petersburg, Tampa and Sarasota, Florida.

The merger creates a stronger title operation that will better serve the needs of the Vero Beach area real estate community with the increased resources, stability and expertise of a large law firm, making it better able to comply with new regulations designed to protect American consumers.

"I am thrilled to join forces with Boss, Arrighi & Hoag," said Deana "Dee" Sharland, owner of Island House Title, which has been serving the Vero Beach community for 10 years. "The firm’s outstanding support team enables the provision of superior customer care and focus on community involvement."

"Dee Sharland has had a strong presence and great reputation in Vero Beach for over a decade," said BAH managing partner Chris Boss, a Vero Beach native. "Her focus on customer service and adherence to the highest professional standards are in alignment with our values."

Sharland will serve as the Title Branch Manager for the new operation, which will now be part of BAH. She brings 16 years of title industry experience in the Vero Beach and Sunrise markets.

The merger allows BAH to continually meet its goal of providing the real estate community the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of a title company, with the knowledge and backing of attorneys.

The announcement follows a succession of mergers around the country since new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regulations went into effect. The creation of the CFPB was authorized by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, established in 2010 as a response to the financial crisis of 2008.

"While these regulations were put in place to protect consumers, few of the smaller title firms are in any position to meet the strict compliance requirements," said Boss. "The merger allows us to provide personalized boutique service with the resources of a law firm." The company serves the title needs of homebuyers, investors, first-time homebuyers, commercial clients, builders and developers.

BAH is a professional limited liability partnership owned by Chris Boss, Brian Arrighi and Treasure Coast native Brian Hoag. The firm practices in several areas of the law including real estate, personal injury, estate planning, probate, debt settlement, employment law, divorce and family law.
