The Arts in the Greater Brandon Area

Just imagine life without music, sculptures, paintings, plays, dances, performances of any kind. Read here about how the Greater Brandon Arts Council helps to nurture all the art genres.

The arts are an important part of the economy of any area;  without the arts, our children’s education would not be complete and the ongoing cultural scene would not exist.

The Greater Brandon Arts Council, a 501c3 organization  as defined by the IRS, has been in existence for 5 years. All those interested in the arts are welcome to join; we need the assistance and cooperation of the entire community to fulfill what we see as our obligation to the cultural development of where we live.  Do take the time now to affiliate with the organization that is an umbrella for all the arts.

Our monthly board meetings are held at Kim Hall’s School of Dance, 501 W. Robertson St., Brandon on the first Wednesday of each month at 8:30AM and are open to anyone wishing to attend.  The website is www.brandonarts.org

It is the mission of the GBAC to advocate for all of the arts and artists and to nurture the arts through education, cultural events, public awareness, and networking. Our events are organized to encourage everyone in the community to participate and become familiar with our mission and determination to foster the cultural welfare of all! At no time are we to be thought of as an “artists only” organization!

We are currently working on a directory of all Brandon area artists and arts organizations.  If you wish to be listed in the directory which will be available on the web site soon, please send an email to info@brandonarts.org  and include whatever information you want published:  name, address, phone, email, type of art, etc.  We are also working on several ideas for workshops or seminars which will bring informed people to you with interesting and educational ideas.

One thought is to have a social networking program for those who would like to take advantage of this fast-growing area but do not know where to start.  Your suggestions for program ideas are welcome at the Info@brandonarts.org  email address.  If you have a community event you would like posted here in the future, please send the information to  info@brandonarts.org

Most of our events are free to the public, some are free just to members (including newly joining members and renewing members), and some have a modest ticket price.
