Merry Christmas and happy New Year to all! 'Tis the season to be thinking of others and gifts of art or art-related items are a great idea. Frequent your local gift shops or boutiques for a wonderful collection of artistic items, especially those created by local artists. By shopping locally, you support the community and its residents!
Another great gift idea is tickets to the Barbara Bailey Hutchison concert Jan. 28 at Center Place. This concert is a fundraiser for Center Place and the Greater Brandon Arts Council (GBAC). There will be dessert and beverages served at intermission! Tickets are $20 a person. Or get tickets for the sixth annual Membership Drive/Arty Party of the GBAC on Feb. 25, also at Center Place. Tickets are $15 admission or $25, which includes a year’s membership or renewal. Tickets are available for both events at Center Place or from GBAC board members.
And don’t forget the less fortunate among us. There are many community groups in the Brandon area to which to contribute food, toys, clothing or financially. These items will be distributed to the needy in our area.
