Radical Love: A Marriage Vocation Retreat

St. Stephen Catholic Church, 5049 Bell Shoals Rd, Valrico, FL | Get Directions »
$10.00

A Catholic day of reflection for married, engaged, and dating couples and anyone ministering to couples!

(If your beloved can't or won't come, you are still welcome!)

Presented by Terry & Ralph Modica of Good News Ministries of Tampa Bay (gnm.org)

“Love one another as I have loved you ….”

Take time with your beloved to discover the power of your vocation of marriage! Marriages are under huge pressures in today’s world. Couples are called to fulfill the mission of Christ for each other and as examples that witness to others about the goodness of God. This is "radical love" (love at the root level): God's radical love for us and our radical love for each other. The keys that unlock the power of faith in marriage are hope and love. Hope is the fuel that energizes our faith; love is the wheel that drives faith forward. However, we cannot give what we do not have. Only God can love us fully. To heal the hurts that have happened in your marriage, find out how much God loves you by rediscovering who you are to God -- as individuals and as couples.

Join us for (optional) 8:00am Mass, followed by a continental breakfast at 8:30. Lunch is included. Fee is $20/couple ($10/person) to cover the cost of food.

St. Stephen Catholic Church was founded in 1987, meeting in a storefront on Bell Shoals Road that is now home to Beef O'Brady's Irish Pub. It moved to its current facility on Bell Shoals Road in 1991, opening its doors with 1,285 registered families. Today the church has more than 4,200 families and is planning to build a new, larger facility on Boyette Road. St. Stephen has one of the largest adult education programs in the Diocese of St. Petersburg and now celebrates baptisms nearly every weekend. The church boasts 110 ministries and provides food for 178 poor families every week through its St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. Three full-time priests serve the parish, Pastor William Swengros, Father Jose and Father Emory, with the help of two deacons, Dan Gratkowski and Rick Zeitler.
