The department raised over $5\,400 in their first day alone\, a success to be shared with the whol e community.\n \;Motorists soon enough will have two more opportunit ies to "Fill the Boot"\, as local fire fighters station themselves at in tersections to collect donations benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc iation (MDA). The fundraiser is set for Friday\, May 25th and Friday\, J une 8th from 4:00pm-7:00pm. The drive\, on both days\, will be held at t he intersections of Army Trail Road &\; Bloomingdale Road and at Schi ck &\; Gary\nFire fighters from the Bloomingdale Fire Department Loca l# 3272 will be taking part in the annual "Fill the Boot" national campa ign. All proceeds from the &lsquo\;boot drive&rsquo\; will benefit local adults and children that are affected by any of the 43 neuromuscular di seases covered by MDA. \; \;\nLast year\, Bloomingdale L3272 fir e fighters raised $10\,258 and fire fighters nationally raised more than $24 million for MDA research\, equipment\, programs\, youth camps and m ore.\n&ldquo\;We would like to thank the Bloomingdale citizens\, and the surrounding towns\, for always supporting our Fill the Boot efforts\,&r dquo\; said Dave Miller\, a fire fighter from the Bloomingdale #3272. &l dquo\;Our Department would not be able to help MDA eradicate neuromuscul ar diseases without their generous donations.&rdquo\;\nMDA is the nonpro fit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy\, ALS and relat ed diseases by funding worldwide research.
