Obama's Smoke and Mirrors Campaign

The economy is still tanking, even though the media continues to push the so-called economic recovery.  But 8.3% unemployment? Not quite.

Real unemployment is at around 19 percent if you count the underemployed, and those that have left the work force completely.

Gas prices are steadily rising, and the president refuses to attempt anything that may give some relief to the "pain at the pump." He avoids real issues, and instead leads everyone to fight over contraception. Contraception is an issue that was created by the progressive media to act as a distraction from real issues.

The media knows that Obama cannot run on his record, nor can he compete when it comes to arguing the issues. Class warfare is his only weapon. He believes, as Karl Marx did, that in order for a society to evolve and progress, there must be conflict between groups or classes. He will be trying to take everyone's eyes off of the prize, and attempt to divide us even more, based on our socioeconomic status.

The unemployment numbers and current gas prices are a couple of examples of the distractions that are being thrown out there for the purpose of avoiding major issues. The unemployment numbers that we see are counted by taking the total number of people that are currently looking for work.  When someone leaves the work force, or in other words, stops looking for a job, then they are no longer included in the unemployment number. You can probably see where this would skew the results.

Then you have underemployed, or those that are working less hours at part-time jobs just to have a source of income. If you take these things into account, you can come to the conclusion that the unemploymnet numbers that we are spoon fed by the media are inaccurate.

On the subject of gas prices, the president has stated that taking advantage of our abundance of natural resources will not have any effect on oil prices. His solution is algae. Really? He's not even close to being rational on this. Supply and demand do have an effect on the price of oil. An increase in supply in the U.S. will lower prices in the short term, and even more in the long term. True energy independence for the U.S. means the full use of our natural resources that are available to us.

But instead of talking about these important issues, we are talking about birth control pills being funded by taxpayers, which should not even be an issue at all. All of this while the media continues to give Obama a free pass to do as he pleases. It's smoke and mirrors, people. Always watch what the other hand is doing. Educate yourself on what is happening on a daily basis, and don't take anything at face value. You must know what you stand for and what you believe to be true. We will be tested, and we must know where we stand. If you do not stand for something, then you will fall for anything.

I could spend a lot of time patiently refuting all of the lies in this hyperbolic screed, this sad manifestation of a hate mongering racist, but all one has to do is go to sites like snope's.com and Politifact to find the rigorously vetted facts. Mr. Brown is aptly named however, since he is obviously full of it.

Everything you need to know about how Fox News and Rush Limbaugh brainwash poor helpless undereducated morons is right here in this posting. Please do yourself a favor and pick up a newspaper or two and checkout news that is less slanted.

1. There are so many different ways to look at numbers associated with unemployment/underemployment/part-time employment that no single formula tells the whole picture. I'd respond to your point on this .... except you failed to make one.
2. You think Obama is trying to deflect gas price criticism by talking about contraception? I think you have this a$$ backwards. How many republican politicians have to crap on the rights of women before even tea baggers like yourself get fed up.
3. I simply love it when folks like you dredge up and totally misunderstand Marx and other political theorists .... and then proceed to call Obama a Socialist. That Intro to Politics
4. If I may quote you = "True energy independence for the U.S. means the full use of our natural resources that are available to us." So tell me ... what do you classify as "natural"? How about solar, wind, biofuel (the algae you refer to) to go along with oil and gas.
5. Supply and demand is definitely at the core of what drives the value of an item in the market ... but stop for a second a realize that the "market" is the entire world. And while the United States is now drilling more and using less ... the rest of the world is also using more.
5.

Relax, Mr. Brown. You have exercised your right as an American to speak freely with your observations and opinions. You have also done so in a very civil and logical tone. Isn't it funny that those who oppose you can only stoop to name-calling and accusations rather than offer an equally intelligent observation and opinion?

I am not going to fight in this thread just provide a link to an article from 2002, then look at Romney's stance and evaluate the differences or lack thereof.
